Psychic Diagnostician – Edgar Cayce (1877 – 1945)

Edgar Cayce Introduction:

Dr. Brian Weiss, author of the book, “Many Lives, Many Masters,” comes to mind readily when one thinks of “Past Life Regression therapy.”  Currently hailed as the godfather of that school of thought, Weiss comes with intrigue. He was not the traditional-minded guru who cultivated spatial mind exercises to allow for heralding the spirit of man, nor did he meditate or astral travel to find his center. Rather, some may see it as a divinely bestowed gift, since it presented itself to him in his office, through two patients/clients who were given equal recognition in his book because of their obviously intertwined incarnations. It was through his work in hypnotherapy that he chanced upon this phenomenon of past life experience. His patients, totally unaware and having never met, had shared a previous life as father and daughter which came to a tragic end when the father died from war wounds in the arms of his daughter. But history will show that past life regression preceded Dr. Weiss’ work.

It was to the psychic Edgar Cayce, otherwise known as the sleeping prophet (1877-1945) that this title was first bestowed. A poor student, he received no more than a grammar school education, and eventually took up photography as a trade. But Edgar Cayce had the unusual ability of inducing out-of-body experiences using a form of self-hypnosis. From a sleep like trance Cayce was known for tapping into the super consciousness or the universal mind to diagnose illnesses that baffled many doctors who sought his consultation.

Edgar Cayce believed that the most certain way to becoming psychic is by activating spiritual sensibilities through meditation, that, I might add, we all have the ability to do to some degree. Many read minds spontaneously without realizing that they are doing so. If you have ever remarked, “I knew you were going to say that,” that is a sure sign of being psychic, some proffered, but we have never paid much attention to this sense of self or our ability to tap into this latent awareness. Edgar Cayce was also able to “read” and unravel ancient mysteries of earth and the universe. Terms such as “meditation,” “spiritual growth,” “auras,” “soul mates,” and “holistic health,” were introduced through him.

“The Edgar Cayce readings emphasize the spiritual nature of humans. However, because of the demands of life we frequently overlook the truest part of ourselves, which is our connection to spirit. Although we possess physical bodies and mental attitudes, ultimately our deepest connection is to our spiritual source.”

But by far Cayce’s work was more concentrated on holistic health and the treatment of illnesses. The doctors who consulted him on ailments that they were unable to diagnose or even had any fair knowledge of how to treat attested to his abilities as a Psychic Diagnostician and the great number of cures that happened as a result of his assistance.

“Perhaps the most important insight gained from the wealth of this material is the fact that each of us is aware of much more—about ourselves, our physical bodies, our surroundings, even our lifestyles—at subconscious levels than we realize.” Edgar Cayce

Cayce’s work is well worth reading or revisiting by seekers of truth and man’s spiritual aptitude, especially those aspirants for whom religiosity is a tepid or diluted introduction to a deeper understanding of self.

“Clairvoyance, clairaudience, dreams and hypnotism, point the way to a better understanding of the history and depth of the human mind and soul. A challenging field lies before humans in their search for truth and the meaning of human existence in Earth.” It is noteworthy that many may dishonestly stake claim to this ability whereas Edgar Cayce has a proven track record.

However, like Edgar Cayce and many other “seers” over time, others will be awakened as leaders and guides to steer the way to our quintessential but shrouded spiritual self, purpose, and calling, as we continue our attempt to manifest the consciousness of Christ on earth. Visit us at.
